Winter Activities at Wintergreen

Whether you’re new to skiing or a seasoned pro, their 24 slopes have something for people of all skill levels. With their snowmaking system that covers 100% of their terrain, every day is a snow day here! If you’re more interested in tubing, you’re in luck. They have Virginia’s largest tubing hill. Lift Tickets and Rentals
Wintergreen sells lift tickets in segments of 4 hours and 8 hours and can be purchased daily at the Skyline Pavilion. The lifts are running from 9 am to 5 pm on Sundays and Mondays, from 9 am to 8 pm on Tuesday through Thursday, and 9 am to 9 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. After purchasing tickets, you can also rent equipment. They supply high-quality and easy to use equipment, which you can register for online. If you’re new to the world of skiing and snowboarding, don’t be alarmed! Wintergreen offers lessons to people of all ages and abilities. There are group lessons, private lessons, women’s clinics, and children’s clinics. Additionally, they offer a Discover Skiing and Riding Program for first-time riders. The Plunge at Wintergreen is where the tubing fun takes place. It is Virginia’s largest tubing park, with a hill that is longer than 3 football fields! Soar down the hill on a tube at 30 miles per hour to experience the thrill of a lifetime. The best part is, you don’t have to climb back up the hill yourself. A conveyor belt will carry you and your tube back up the mountain! Keep in mind, tubing is recommended for those ages 6 and up, and a height 42 inches or taller. For families with young children, Wintergreen has something for people of all ages! Ridgely’s Fun Park is the perfect place for small children. Here, kids can play in the snow, or even go tubing on the small tubing hill. Kids will love to see the Wintergreen Mascot, Ridgely the Bear, visit them as they play in a winter wonderland. Ridgely’s Fun Park is open on Saturday and Sunday in the winter.
