Free Concerts in Charlottesville Every Friday
Beginning in April, Charlottesville hosts a favorite tradition for the spring and summer season — Fridays After Five! Lasting until the beginning of September, Fridays After Five is a series of free concerts in Charlottesville. The concerts are held at the Sprint Pavilion on the downtown mall. Featuring local artists in a variety of genres, the concerts are a popular place for people to hang out after a long work week. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. and lasts until around 8:30 p.m every Friday until the end of the season. The venue is only a short drive from Arden Place, the best affordable luxury apartment community in Charlottesville.
While this event is totally free, you may want to bring some extra cash along with you for some beverages and food! Besides wine and beer, there are usually vendors and food trucks set up so you can grab a bite to eat or a refreshing drink while you listen to music. Volunteers working with nonprofits usually run the concession stands, raising money for various causes in the area.
There’s seating underneath the pavilion itself. However, many choose to bring lawn chairs or blankets for sitting in the grassy area.
Location of Fridays After Five
As the Pavilion is located at the end of the downtown mall, it’s in close proximity to many restaurants and bars. If you feel like going out after the concert has ended, you can walk to dinner or continue the fun at a bar nearby! Remember to always drink responsibly and take an Uber home if needed.
Fridays After Five has been a Charlottesville tradition for over 30 years! So if you’ve never been, be sure to check it out for a fun-filled night. What better way to unwind and relax than a free concert in Charlottesville? Grab some friends, coworkers, or your significant other and head on out to Fridays After Five!
